Tarak has a post-graduate degree in Theatre from Rabindra Bharati University and he uses his theatrical knowledge with his aptitude for light design to develop fine ideas for light choreography in experimental dance productions.

He has already worked with the likes of Maya Krishna Rao, Baharul Islam, Barry John and Anamika Haskar.He has also designed lights for Biplab Chattopadhyay and the tercentenary celebrations of Akal Takht.

Tarak has designed lights for Sapphire's productions like Indian Erotica, Post Mortem and Positive Lives, and has widely toured with the ensemble. He is also the official light designer for INTERFACE. The association between Tarak and Sapphire has acted as a mutual boost to talent and experimentation.
